Presenter : Professor Takashi Inoguchi (Faculty of Law,Chuo University)
Date       : 29 June 2005
Location  : Nanzan University, Nagoya Campus, D Building, DB1

The presentation by Chuo University Professor Inoguchi was an overwhelming success, with over 120 participants actively participating in the question and answer session.  Professor Inoguchi is a respected Japanese academic in the field of Asian research.

To illustrate regionalization in the Asia-Pacific region, five theories of regionalization were presented : 1) economic interdependence ; 2) regional identity ; 3) circles of centrality ;

4) peace and security ; and 5) democracy.

Professor Inoguchi,generally regarded as the Asian Barometer,

suggested that the role of the Nanzan University Center for Asia-Pacific Studies would be critical in the Chubu region. Center members will be working hard to make this prophecy true.
