南山大学人類学博物館所蔵「友枝啓泰アンデス民族学画像コレクション」の生みの親、故・友枝啓泰氏は世界的に知られたアンデス学者である。1963年の東京大学アンデス発掘調査団への参加を皮切りに、以後、現在に至るまで40年以上にわたり当該地域でフィールド・ワークを続け、その地域の文化人類学をリードしてきた。その間、アンデスの諸民族、またその生活風景、習慣を現地調査する一方、4.5万枚以上もの写真を撮り、そのすべてが2005年3月末に本館に寄贈された。このWebページは、友枝コレクションの人類学ならびにアンデス研究の学術的意義を示すとともに、当該地域に関心をもつすべての専門家にこのコレクションの基礎的な案内となるように作成されている。なお、このWebページは、科学研究費補助金（研究成果公開促進費　平成18-20、22、23年度）により作成されたコレクションのデータベースをもとに構築されている。記して関係各位にお礼申しあげる。また、同コレクションのデータベース化は平成23年度をもって終了し、今後、内外の研究者の利用をお待ちしたい。

The Tomoeda Collection in the Anthropological Museum of Nanzan University consists of more than 45.000 Andean ethnographic photographs. The late Dr. Hiroyasu Tomoeda, the father of the collection, is a famous Andeanist who has done a series of anthropological field researches taking pictures as a part of image chronicle in the Andean world since 1963. He photographed not only the landscape with ecological variety but portraits of his informants, rites, annual ceremonies, rites of passage, dances etc., which convey realistic aspects of Andean ethnography, and demonstrates frequently even social structure, mentality or religious passion, although they as such are invisible. This Web page indicates the significance of the Tomoeda Collection in the anthropology and Andean studies, and serves as a basic guide to the Collection for all specialists who are interested in the area. The database used in this Web page has been made by Naomi Tsuchiya, Chika Ishita, Junko Uekawa, Aiko Ohashi, Takao Kojima, Natsuki Uehara, Shoko Izumida, Natsumi Shirakawa, Masayo Ohara and Shinji Kawabe, the chief director with the Grants-in-Aid for Scientific Research (Publication of Scientific Research Result supervised by Takahiro Kato) since 2006 to 2012.
